Last year Billy & I set out on a week long road trip, determined to see at much as we could! From Zion & the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas & LA, we captured it all on film. Little did I know that Billy’s cute face would grace the charming Hearth Mag! I couldn’t be more excited!!! This summer issue comes out in June! Volume 1 is about the sweetness of summer traditions. It is 126 pages of beautiful photography and writing. You can get your hands on one here!

Photographing couples is my absolute favorite! There is this excitement and palpable love between a couple who is about to get married, and I love capturing that on film! Even if you’re not engaged or you are already married, I adore photographing couples! Anniversary sessions are so special and fun! I actually have more anniversary sessions booked this year than engagements!

Engagement sessions also give us a chance to work together before the wedding and an it’s ideal way for you to get comfortable being in front of the camera. I love getting to know my clients before their wedding & hear their love story!

During your session, my goal is to make you feel comfortable and to have fun! Most couples are a little nervous because it’s usually their first time being photographed by a professional, but ALWAYS at the end of the session I hear “that was so fun!” I even sometimes hear that from the guy!

When I’m photographing you I am always communicating with you, showing you a pose or letting you know what I’m loving & that you look amazing. I like to give all my clients casual direction to create a relaxing atmosphere so they can be themselves.  I love to guide you in a way that looks and feels un-posed, natural, candid and romantic. :)

Photo shoots with the one you adore is such a fun experience and one you’ll remember forever!

When to book:

Book your session with me at least a couple months before your wedding so that we have time to deliver your photos and you’ll be able to order prints if you want to display them at your wedding. You can book even earlier if you’re wanting to send out a save the date with one of your photos.

I love using natural light in all my photos, so sunny day is a must! Backlighting (having the sun behind you) creates a beautiful glow and makes your skin look flawless and creamy. For this reason we start shooting in the early evening when the sun is lower so we get that beautiful warm glow and light in your photos!

I am in love with nostalgia.

What I love most about being a photographer is creating these little pieces of history that I know will be in your family forever. Photos you will share with your children and that they will share with their children. I love that!

Besides all that, having your photo taken with the person you love most in this entire world is an experience you will never forget.

One of the biggest reasons I adore shooting with film is the way I feel when I look at it. It’s like a dream. The colors and tones of a film photograph, there is nothing more beautiful to me. Film is timeless. Don’t you just love the photos of your parents or grandparents, they are classic, rich and beautiful…they are shot with a film camera. I crave to create timeless images for you. There will come a day, in a year, 5 years or 50 years when you will look back on these images and feel exactly how you felt that day…the love you shared and that passion that brought you together. That is so beautiful!

Why I love senior portraits & my approach:

I adore photographing senior girls. They are full of life, ambition and overflowing with beauty. I love capturing that beauty on film and sharing it with you! We always have SO much fun on our photo shoots! My approach is a little different than the traditional senior portrait. I want your photos to have an editorial look while creating natural and timeless images with a lifestyle feel. During your session I direct a lot, showing you what I want you to do and making you feel comfortable. I am constantly talking to you, making sure you look flawless, beautiful and natural.

What to wear:

I love photographing pieces with movement, color and texture. I’m obsessed with flowy dresses & lace! I want you to feel beautiful and comfortable in the outfits you choose and encourage you to bring a few different looks. One of my favorite things is to start a pinterest board together and be albe to share photos that you love, outfit and hair ideas and poses we want to try! I love seeing what you love!

Getting your makeup done by a professional makes you look and feel incredible in your photos. I always notice a difference in my seniors when they have their makeup done professionally…they are confident and feel so beautiful, I love that! I always suggest to do your nails too or have them nude incase they are in a close up photo or headshot.

When to book!

Now! If you are going to be a 2014 senior girl then I would love to set up a date to photograph you this summer. I am booking senior portraits now for June through August.
