peace & gladness

“The voice we should listen to most as we choose a vocation, is the voice that we might think we should listen to least, and that is the voice of our own gladness. What can we do that makes us the gladdest, what can we do that leaves us with the strongest sense of sailing true north and of peace, which is much of what gladness is? Is it making things with our hands out of wood or stone or paint or canvas? Or is it making something we hope like truth out of words? Or is it making people laugh or weep in a way that cleanses their spirit? I believe that if it is a thing that makes us truly glad, then it is a good thing and it is our thing and it is the calling voice that we were made to answer with our lives.” – Frederick Buechner

…one of my favorite quotes and a photo from our Kauai trip a couples years ago…

We will be in Hawaii the first week of August photographing a sweet couple and we couldn’t be more excited!!! Feeling blessed.

Ah, that is so exciting friend!

a summer road trip :: Hearth Magazine

There is something so refreshing and inspiring about seeing someone pursue their dreams with so much passion…devoting every part of themselves to create something beautiful, from the heart. That is what Hearth Magazine is. Their first issue came out this June and is all about the sweetness of summer traditions. It’s full of beautiful imagery and writings.

You can order a copy here!

Our road trip from last summer through Nevada, Utah, Arizona and California is one of the photography essays in this issue. Having our photos in this beautiful magazine, in my hands, was a feeling indescribable. I was just so happy and honored. One of our photos also made the cover!

Here is a little peak from our road trip in Hearth Mag!

They have also made a kick-starter to help fund volume 2! Please check it out and if you can contribute, it would be such a blessing and you would be a part of something that is sharing the beauty of this world with others!

You can back this project here!

Wedding Venue Feature ::: San Ysidro Ranch

San Ysidro Ranch is exactly how I imagine heaven…cobblestone paths lined with spanish lavender and olive trees, rose gardens and jasmine arches. It really is a dream. When we drove up the drive way I was breathless. This is the most beautiful wedding venue I have ever laid my eyes on and I cannot wait to photograph a couple here someday *hint hint*!!!
