Rose and Belle Clothing | Southern Oregon Brand Photography

Almost two years ago we bought our fist home, a craftsman fixer with all the character you can practically smell in its old walls & my belly was round and ever growing. Summer arrived and with it came our Ivy. It was a year of growing, the growth that happens when you become a family and the change, struggles and heart ache we conquered. One thing that was my hearts desire was other mama friends, even just one that I could relate to and share life with. Motherhood is almost indescribable for me, the solitude and different way of life that it brings along with it’s boundless joy. Friendship for me was vital to making it through that first year and now, as our children grow together, it gets sweeter & these days will always be something cherished.

We live in a small town here in Oregon & I’m coming to find so many creative mamas. It’s really amazing and an answer to a prayer!

These are from a day spent at a local winery with Heather, Sierra & our girls, photographing these mama’s who are also makers.

Finding the right words to share my thoughts and numerous heart changes for this post…

Over this past year the passion, fulfillment I once had in wedding photography just isn’t there. Honestly it’s in part because I became a mother and all my time, body, mind is for her and that changes people and for me it has changed me in the best of ways. Mix that with a career that is constantly undervalued and you have this outcome, my life and figuring it all out, again. It’s not that I don’t love photography because I’ll never stop taking photographs, I promise. It’s that Im finding no joy in the race of this industry. So I am stepping away for now. Maybe it will come back to me someday. What I truly want you to know though is this… Don’t be sad for me. I feel good about this decision, so good. This year has been hard at times, but in that I have learned more about my self and am still learning because I am ever growing. There are pieces of me uncovered that I want to explore, desires and new passions I want to pursue and nurture, so I will!

I’ll leave you with this photograph of me & Ivy in a field because it sums up my heart’s desires at the moment. Simplicity, family, rolling hills and wild flowers. In the meantime, I will be posting more about our family, motherhood and all the things that bring me joy.

I will not be booking weddings at this time, but am happy to help refer you to any vendors you might be looking for! xo

Good morning! I am wondering if you shoot wedding photos? I’m looking for an engagement/wedding photographer for July 15, 2017. I would love more information about your photography and pricing, thank you!

You will never regret the time you spend with your babies, only the time you don’t. Trust me, I know. Best!

Oh love, I can so understand and relate to this in a lot of ways. I’m happy you’re happy with your decision and still hope to one day get in front of your camera (and I promise to pay you ALL the money because you’re so worth it!)

In an orchard beneath a willow tree, drenched with sunlights last look, our brother and his bride vowed their love and lives to each other. It was a beautiful day and one of the most joyous I have yet lived!

We love you, Benanna & Veira!

As an Oregonian it’s a bit shameful to admit, camping isn’t my favorite! No bathroom(although I’ve almost mastered peeing in the woods) no shower, frozen and that dew on the inside of the tent walls is the worst. BUT, over the years, ive grown somewhat fond of it. The peace that only nature can bring is something I treasure dearly & being married to a man and his outdoorsy family has been something so good for my spirit. I think also, having children makes these experiences so much more joyful because you can just see their eyes light up.

Ivy is just a few weeks over one year here and has an adventurous spirit! Silver Falls is my favorite spot in Oregon besides our coast and Im dying to go back in fall! Even the drive in is one of the best, through all the rolling pastures and farm land of Silverton.

A few things that made camping with baby a little easier…

-A tub of toys she could bring in and out of the tent

-Wet ones wipes-witch hazel is kinda my hero

-Her bear suit or really cozy clothes and a beanie for the babe. I was pretty much awake all night keeping her covered with blankets and nursing/pacifying (always teething!) So bring extra blankets too. Sleeping on an air mattress can be cold so lay a blanket under you or maybe think about getting a foam pad instead.

Other than that, it was one of our easier trips because she could just run around all day. If you hike the waterfalls start at the North end where there’s less tourists. We got a super early start, you know, because the night was pretty rough, but that morning light coming through the trees made it all worth it!

also bring coffee!

Thank you! Yes they are on film😊

So lovely, Laura! We’re the pictures above captured on film?
